A Web Developer is required be part of an entertainment company based in Oxford.

A Web Developer is required by an award winning company based centrally in Oxford. Working on Award Winning and Globally Recognised Software and Media business, this a rare opportunity for a Web Developer to join the business and work with the latest tech stack and be involved with ideas within a small team.

The Web Developer will be expected to contribute to design processes, share ideas with the team leaders and members, produce high quality code and maintain existing and legacy code. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates of varying levels who are looking for excellent scope for progression and would be interested in working for one of Europe’s leading game developers.

What does the successful Web Developer applicant need?

The successful Web Developer will have excellent knowledge of PHP and come from a strong academic background, or with equivalent industry experience. The Web Developer will also participate in the design and implementation of PHP websites, applications and services.

In addition, the Web Developer responsibilities will include:

Maintain and improve legacy code

Create and maintain new reusable company code libraries

Maintain a high quality of coding, adhering to company coding standards and guidelines

The Web Developer will ideally bring the following attributes and experience:

Excellent PHP knowledge

Knowledge and experience of OOP and MVC frameworks (ideally Laravel)

Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (including jQuery)

Familiarity with use of IDEs, debugging, logging, automated testing (PHPUnit, TDD), and version control systems (Git, Perforce, SVN)

Agile development
