Overview:

DXC have a vacancy for a hands-on Portfolio Lead, based in Aldershot. The role will have Task Management / Assignment Management responsibility for 5/6 Project Managers, managing upwards of 60 projects with budgets ranging from £2-3k up to £1M plus.

The role will also be expected to directly manage and deliver projects where needed in addition to managing the Portfolio, so a hands-on resource is required who will pick up whatever is needed to ensure the successful delivery of the team.

The Portfolio Lead role:

* Responsible for the delivery of projects (within their Portfolio Team) to meet client and company expectations and needs.

* Responsible for ensuring, through reviews, that all projects are delivered to expected/required standards and appropriate status reporting systems are maintained

* Responsible for management of escalations, Risks and Issues of projects within their Portfolio Team.

* Engages and maintains communications with the customer, management and staff to ensure service is delivered on time and within budget or contractual obligations

* Have task management including responsibility for coaching / mentoring of Portfolio PM's within their Portfolio Team.

* Have strong program and project management knowledge

* Have strong client relationship and management skills

* Strong Business and P&L/budget management skills

* Able to manage multiple teams and projects to achieve goals, drive leverage and mitigate risk

* Steer the Portfolio team and the business organization toward achieving the intended business results

* Identify and establish close contacts with project sponsors and other stakeholders.

* Ensure that component initiatives and their deliverables are compatible, that support is provided to projects, and that inter-project issues are dealt with promptly.

* Assess the impact and priority of changes in program direction, scope, benefit targets, cost, and timing. Recommend action and review change implementation

Essential Job Functions:

* Ensure project governance and compliance in line with standard DXC practices and customer/account requirements.

* Conduct regular project reviews in accordance with DXC's standard governance framework to ensure projects are delivered in alignment with DXC's enterprise architecture, strategy and project management methodologies including involvement of Delivery Assurance (DA).

Maintains a pipeline of work for the Portfolio team and adjusts Portfolio resourcing according to the provided future demand

* Ensure quality and comprehensiveness of the Project Management Plans.

* Enforce Project Manager KRAs set by the project delivery organizations.Provide coaching, guidance and project management expertise to the team project managers

* Make progress reports to Delivery Centre management, raise issues and improvement requests, and recommend resolution actions.

* Monitors budget and funding for Portfolio projects, Support Internal Audit Requirements, Enforces the Governance

* Facilitate and manage escalation of project issues

* Manages the Quality Management and Oversight

* Ensures coordination between the DXC and Client organizations at the project level and with functional and technical activities

* Responsible for individual and career development of team members

Qualifications

Essential

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferably a degree in a related field preferred for example BSc in IT management)

* Five (5) or more years of PM experience, Two (2) or more years of supervisory or management experience included:

* Experience working with the past and present company business environment

* Experience working with concepts, practices and procedures in areas of responsibility

* Experience working with the management implications of various forms of financial data

* Experience working with budgets, budget information and analyses

* Experience working with budgets, budget information and analyses

* Must have knowledge of Microsoft Project (preferably MSP 2007 or MSP 2010)

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
