ETL BI Developer
What does a Business Intelligence Developer do?
* Support and improve the BI platform for information, ensuring that data is always available, up to date, accurate and relevant
* Contribute to the BI cloud strategy to allow for the development of patient interactive apps and feedback mechanisms directly into operational processes
* Vocal leader of the company data dictionary which ensures that we all speak the same language and understand what our data is telling us - improving decision making at all layers of the business
* Modelling of our business processes to ensure clarity on areas of weakness / lack of control that could create a negative patient experience and proactive identification of data sets / predictive analytics that could improve performance
Hours: 40 hours per week across Monday - Friday
What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful?
You will need to be a determined individual and have the ability to drive a project forward, even in the face of antipathy or a potential barrier. You will need to be a self-starter but also be comfortable working within a structured framework, and you will need to be confident enough to promote your ideas both written and verbally.
As well as the above you will need to be commercially aware and have extreme attention to detail.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Microsoft SQL Server (2005-2014)
* T-SQL
* SSIS including extensive ETL design and development experience
* Visual Studio Team System (2005+) - other source control software acceptable
* Microsoft Office 2007+
* Developing and maintaining objects within OLAP Data Warehouses
* ETL (Electronic Transform and Load)
* Metadata management / Data quality
* Working with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels in the business
Experience of the below would be extremely desirable:
* SQL Server Analysis Services
* SQL Server 2016
* Database Cloud Services (Azure preferable)
* Alteryx or other ETL tools
* ASP .NET, XML, HTML, JavaScript
* Agile methodologies
* An end-user tool to enable interaction with Data Cubes and BI datasets (e.g. Microsoft Excel 2007+, Power BI, Qlikview, Qliksense, Tableau
