Data Science Principal Analyst

Your role

You'll lead the way in assessing and introducing innovative data science tools into our business, including acting as the lead on the use of machine learning. Using your data science expertise to identify areas where it can add real business benefits, you'll partner with teams across the business, explore new data uses and initiate, manage and deliver relevant business projects.

From creating, testing and implementing models and algorithms to applying advanced techniques, you'll support decision making, scenario planning and the assessment of future options. At the same time, you'll be a guide and mentor for our analysts in the use of machine learning and other advanced techniques, encouraging knowledge sharing and best practice.

What you'll need

We're looking for a highly experienced and innovative data scientist with the confidence to challenge, influence and support the use of innovative techniques to advance our business.

Naturally, you'll need to be an expert in applying machine learning methodologies and statistical techniques to business challenges. You'll also have a background in delivering major business projects using advanced analytical techniques. With an MSc or PhD that includes significant analytical content, or relevant work experience, you'll be familiar with appropriate software and environments, such as SAS, R, Python, Spark, Hadoop and AWS.
