Bring your project management skills to Counter Terrorism (CT) Policing
A career with CT Policing is like no other, with specialist roles spanning the UK and internationally. The current threat from terrorism to the UK and overseas is different to anything we have faced before. We need to be in a position to respond to this new, constantly changing and diversifying threat to help protect our communities. Embarking upon this challenge in the current economic climate also means finding new ways to operate. This is your opportunity to make a real contribution to the UK’s ability to fight terrorism and keep our citizens safe both at home and abroad.
The National Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (NCTPHQ) is the corporate centre for national Counter Terrorism (CT) policing, and provides operational and support services to the CT policing network at a national level. You will be working for the CT Policing Change Pillar, which oversees a number of complex change projects and programmes across the CT policing network and in support of the wider National Counter Terrorism Policing Strategy. The current operational environment for CT is dynamic, therefore CT Policing must continually respond and change to the threat. Change is therefore at the heart of CT.
Using your skills and professional ability, you will help manage and support complex projects and programmes to deliver change for the better for UK Counter Terrorism Policing and influence how the network operates in the future. You’ll be responsible for establishing projects, and overseeing the whole process to make sure they succeed. By supporting the Senior Project Manager/Programme Manager, you’ll help them create and maintain consistently high-quality, accurate and relevant governance products. This includes anything from dependency logs, project plans, risks and issues register, financial data, and benefits realisation plans. You will be working with colleagues from within the police service, our partners, government and experts from private industry.
A strong communicator, you’ll come to us with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to hit tight deadlines. You’ll also have a history working within a project and programme management environment. This will have also given you knowledge of, or direct experience in, applying programme and project management approaches such as PRINCE2. And it’s essential you’ve worked in either local government, a security agency or policing (ideally from a highly secure public sector background).
To apply, please click the APPLY button. You will need to download a role-specific information pack and click on the link to complete and submit the online application form. You’ll also be required to supply a detailed CV and a personal statement. Failure to supply all the relevant documents will result in your application being terminated.
Completed applications must be submitted by 23.55pm on Wednesday 13th June
We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
