Our Central Government client based in London is recruiting for a number of Data Architect roles. The role requires SC level Security Clearance.

You will work as part of a Technical Design Authority who are responsible for specific domains.

They will need to collaborate closely with delivery teams in a multi-supplier environment.

Our client is moving from a large outsourced SI arrangement to an in-house, largely cloud based and open source based solutions delivered iteratively. Legacy technologies inc Oracle and Tibco. Strategic technology stack is based on Microservices architecture including Java, Node JS, ELK, Postgres, MongoDB, AWS, Puppet, Chef.

Responsibilities

1 Acting as the lead architect for specific capabilities.

2 Guiding the creation and evolution of the architecture of the solution that the team is working on.

3 Ensuring the solution will be easy to support by encouraging good design and refactoring to minimize technical debt.

4 lead identification and determine strategies to mitigate key project technical risks.

5 Leading the initial architecture envisioning effort at the beginning of the project and supports the initial requirements envisioning effort (especially evolving the non-functional requirements for the solution).

Key Skills / Experience

* Have in-depth experience of defining and implementing target and transition architectures for Mission critical legacy transformation projects

* Understanding of agile environments, continual delivery techniques and dev-ops cultures

* Have in depth experience of cloud architectures and best practices

* Understanding of how to influence senior management and communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences

* In depth experience of defining NFRs

* Experience of Microservice architectures and Open Source

* Experience of HMPO systems or similar government operational systems

* Experience of GDS best practices
