Solution Designer/Architect - Technical Architect

Our client, a growing consultancy, is looking to recruit the services of a Technical Architect on a permanent basis. The post holder will be required to define a robust architecture and design to underpin the development of our client's products. This role will focus on the application domain focusing on enabling a contemporary application solution landscape; or designing an effective and secure infrastructure landscape.

Tasks will include:

Being responsible for defining the overall structure of a program or system.

Collaborating with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications

Using tools and methodologies to create representations, models for logical applications, components and services

Developing high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility

Planning for evolutionary paths and new technology adoption

Managing risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture

Determining, documenting and maintaining target architecture for domain

Defining and maintaining the application architecture

Evaluating alternative solution options and associated costs

Conducting fit-gap analysis of alternative software solutions against the target architecture

Running proof of concepts for new solutions, as appropriate

Using the architectural strategy, define an application architecture roadmap (as part of the enterprise architecture roadmap) for the business that supports and underpins the product roadmap

Analysing options and developing specific recommendations as part of the design of the application architecture

Assessing the impact of proposed application architecture on other domains and on the wider IT strategy and resolve any conflicts as necessary

Leveraging knowledge of new technology options and tools to identify and create business improvement opportunities

Ensuring that product roadmaps and planned developments are aligned with architecture the wider IT strategy

Developing a detailed design which meets business requirements

Required skills and experience:

Proven Solution architecture/Solution Design relevant to the application domain

Experience of working for a data services/product organisation is an advantage

Previous experience in a solution architecture role (for the application architecture domain)

A successful track record of developing architectures which deliver on their business goals
