3rd Line Infrastructure Support Analyst - BirminghamWorking in the Birmingham area for a leading UK financial services company, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced 3rd Line Infrastructure Support Analyst to join a close knit team. You will cover the hours of 8am-6pm, usually operating either 8am-4pm or 10am-6pm and there is an element of flexibility with this rota (the management are happy for the team to sort this out themselves!). With the trust that the management put into the team, they allow you to flourish in your role allowing give and take within this position. This is again shown when the Infrastructure Analyst is required to do any on call, the manager will allow time in lieu.Role responsibilities:

'€¢Ensure that the IT infrastructure is fit for purpose and that service performance and availability is maintained'€¢Ensure that the IT structure is sufficiently flexible to cope with growth and business changes, aligning the IT strategy with the business strategy'€¢Design, configure, optimise, monitor and maintain clients server, LAN and WAN configurations and in doing so providing an effective, reliable and secure communications infrastructure that follows industry best practice to underpin all corporate systems.

Skills required:

'€¢Knowledge and understanding of ITIL and or CoBit and ISO27001'€¢Ability to communicate technical data to a non-technical audience'€¢Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions'€¢Stakeholder management and people facilitation skills'€¢Knowledge of project management methodologies, preferably PRINCE2'€¢Proven track record of delivering infrastructure change projects within time and to budget'€¢Excellent and practical knowledge of security, security techniques, there deployment and control within an IT environment'€¢Demonstrable knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Active Directory, Group Policies, MS Exchange, Core Switching/Routing, SSL/IPSec, SAN, Virtualization, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery'€¢Demonstrable knowledge of Windows server 2003 and above, LANs, WANs, Virtualisation, SANs, SQL Server, network design, Firewalls, VMware ESX'€¢Knowledge of VoIP telephony systems'€¢Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues
