Automation Test Analyst - Agile, Automation, SOAP UI, Fuse, Jenkins, SQL, Java - JY/5158

My client is a leading worldwide technical solutions provider and they are seeking an Automation Test Analyst to join their Oxford based offices. The role of the Automation Test Analyst will be working in a multi-skilled Scrum Team on key projects for the company. You will play a pivotal role laying out the strategy for delivering a high-quality product and helping the team achieve it.

The successful Automation Test Analyst will work in cohesive, self-contained teams empowered to deliver each aspect of the user experience. Each team follows an Agile process tailored to their requirements. We practice TDD, pair programming and CI with continuous deployment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities for the Automation Test Analyst

                                         Development and execution of automated testing for large or multiple diverse projects to successfully and consistently enable delivery of high-quality software products and services on time, on budget, and to specification, reacting quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances to meet the needs of the business.

                                         Work with QA manager, project managers, technical leads, and subject matter experts to plan and execute automated tests.

                                         Ensure that testing addresses requirements as agreed with other stakeholders.

                                         Research available tools and lead initiatives to identify and implement those that will cost-effectively enhance testing capabilities and product quality.

                                         Work across teams to support quality assurance and testing throughout the business as appropriate.

                                         Lead continuous integration and continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices.

                                         Identify areas for improvement and, with leadership, peers, or others, implement initiatives improving overall capability and efficiency.

                                         Serve as subject matter expert in the configuration, maintenance, and/or administration of testing tools or environments.

                                         Suggest process improvements that enable efficient delivery and maintenance with consistent direction.

                                         Identify areas for cooperation with other teams to improve overall quality and, with peers or others, implement initiatives improving testing capability and efficiency.

                                         Develop and execute automated testing for assigned projects to successfully and consistently enable delivery of high-quality software products and services on time, on budget, and to specification.

                                         Maintain flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances to meet the needs of the business.

                                         Report issues and results, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate, documenting accordingly.

                                         Cooperate in the enhancement of the methodologies employed for test planning and execution, defect tracking, and metric and status reporting.

                                         Maintain framework for record retention in order to support internal and external IT audits.

                                         Enhance quality assurance/testing and help to develop/execute automation testing throughout the business as appropriate.

                                         Identify areas for improvement and, with leadership, peers, or others, implement initiatives improving overall capability and efficiency.

                                         Maintain flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances to meet the needs of the business.

Key Skills and Experience for the Senior QA Engineer

                                         8+ years of Quality Test Engineering experience

                                         BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required, advanced degree preferred

                                         Strong understanding of Agile (Scrum, Kanban) development & QA methodologies.

                                         Ability to develop and execute automation testing for large scale projects.

                                         Research skills (tools/root cause analysis).

                                         Administration of testing tools and test environments.

                                         Strong test planning, time management, and change management skills across multiple functional groups and departments, and strong skills involving prioritizing and reprioritizing testing tasks.

- Essential technical skills

- Strong hands-on working experience in

                                         J-Unit, Java(not developer level)

                                         SQL

                                         Jenkins continuous integration

                                         JIRA & Confluence

                                         Web services & API testing

                                         SOAP UI

                                         Continuous integration

                                         Testing cloud applications e.g. AWS, Azure etc.

- Desirable technical skills

- Strong hands-on working experience in

                                         Citrus integration test framework

                                         Maven

                                         Fuse

                                         Talend

                                         SOAP UI

- Advanced problem-solving experience.

- Advanced communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience including senior management, customers, etc.
