This company is the world largest express transportation company providing fast reliable services to more than 220 countries. This is their largest site within the UK and due to the demand they are looking to recruit a Transport Manager to manage a busy department with over 800 truck movements per night.

This is a highly responsible role where you will manage and control over 800 truck movements per night. You will manage a team of drivers ensuring that you lead and motivate a team of supervisors. You will be required to maintain and improve operation efficiency, cost and service levels to ensure operation compliance. Huge emphasis is placed upon people development so your role will involve mentoring, training, developing and creating succession plans for staff.

This role would therefore ideally suit an experienced transport or fleet manager or someone who has had experience of running/coordinating a national distribution hub who is looking to join a world renowned company where you can progress to become a senior manager whilst having a positive impact into their transport operations.

The Role:

* Manage over 800 Truck movements per night

* Manage 3 Supervisors, 2 Dispatchers and network of over 100 Drivers

* Maintain / improve operational efficiency and cost & service levels

* Organise team activity

* Working Monday to Friday Nights - 6pm - 3am

*£47,000 + Pension + Benefits

The Person:

* Must have experience in the Transport sector

* Ideally have experience of working within national distribution

* Must have experience in a supervisory or management capacity

* Ideally hold a CPC National although they can put you through this

* Must live in a commutable distance to Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire
