Job title: Manual Tester x3

Length: 6 months, potential with projects planned for 12 months afterwards

Number of roles: 3 (great to share with a friend if you also want to apply!)

Start date: 1st of June, candidates who can start on this date will be given a higher priority.

Interview: 1 round onsite or Skype on Thursday the 24th of May. You will find out the next day if you are successful in the interview.

Support: We will help you every step of the way in understanding the job, preparing for an interview and the location. If you are successful, we check in with you, once every 2 weeks (usually Thursday afternoon) to make sure everything is going well and support you.

X-factor: Opportunity to get a manual tester job on a long running contract with the option to learn/upskill within automation. There are very few manual tester jobs on the market due to the current demand for automation engineers, this is your opportunity to not be left behind.

Culture: As a manual tester, you will be joining a large team that contains members who are based offshore. The culture is collaborative and inclusive rather than introspective with headphones on. Your key duty is to execute the test cases that are prepared by the senior testers within the timeframe proposed. You will also be raising defects with the scrum team.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

* Review, understand and interpret User Requirements and Functional Specification documents and provide input as needed.

* Create and/or obtain data needed for testing

* Accurately test system features and ensure compliance with project specification.

* Accurate recording all test activities and results

* Accurate recording and tracking of defects, using approved defect tracking procedures, and work closely with developers to achieve the change of those defects.

* Develop specialist system knowledge of the operating and financial reporting systems to enable complete 'end to end' business process and financial understanding of each development project

* Complete all testing within the agreed timesframe as per the project test plan.

* Provide knowledge transfer to end users through initial training

* Support the Business sign off process (UAT) required prior to project release and provide all relevant feedback to project lead prior to release.

* Regular, and correct status reporting to the Test Management Team

* Escalation of any issues relating to test efforts.

* Build own knowledge base to enable comprehensive testing, including data input, for each functional area.

* Prioritization of Test tasks together with Senior TesterTest LeadManager.

* Input into development and maintenance of Test best practices

* Creation of test plan and test estimates.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and Experience

Required

* Minimum 2 years' experience on manual testing

* Ability to interpret user requirements

* A good working knowledge of the software development lifecycle

Desirable

* ISTQB Foundation Level

* Financial Services background is a plus

* Experience with the test tools Smartbear and JIRA

* Agile experience
