In your new Software Engineer in Test, you’ll be joining the team in our Digital Development Centre and working across multiple areas and technologies within the DevOps stack. You’ll be facilitating testing and quality using DevOps practices and principle, working hands on to ensure the continuous delivery of quality software.

Using a consultative approach, you’ll be supporting other team members with quality software development practices and perhaps most importantly, sharing your expertise, increasing the team’s maturity around code testing and quality.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll bring a background of continuous delivery using DevOps practices to your new role, and you’ll have experience of test-driven development, and preferably behaviour driven development. You’ll use exceptional communication skills to work closely with developers, Designers and DevOps Engineers in cross-functional teams, providing strong problem solving skills and technical expertise.

Knowledge of a Software Test Life Cycles, scripting language or coding is a must in this role, with Bash and one other language required. You’ll have a strong background in defining automated test environments forming part of the continuous integration pipeline with experience of Software Quality tools like Robot and SonarQube. Any Cloud Native principles and techniques such as Microservices, Containers, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Infrastructure-as-code.is desirable, as is any exposure to building, customising, deploying, and managing the environment/ test automation frameworks. Experience of Configuration Management tooling (Ansible, Chef, and Puppet etc.) is beneficial.
