We have an urgent requirement for a Junior Network Support Engineer. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a desktop environment with some exposure to switches, firewalls and IP telephony who is looking to take the next step into a Network Support role.
Working as part of a Network and Technology Support team you will be responsible for investigating and resolving IT issues escalated by the 2nd line support team, monitor and configure the Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN and WAN)and identify any trends which could indicate actual or potential problems which need to be escalated to the Network Manager.
You will also be involved in the rollout of a new switch infrastructure at multiple sites.
Essential Skills include:
o Knowledge of Cisco Networking fundamentals
o Knowledge of switches and routers
o Knowledge of Firewalls
o Some experience of telephony support e.g. Skype for Business, Mitel, IP telephony
o Proactive systems and applications monitoring techniques
o NHS Networking initiatives and programs, N3 & COIN technologies and procedures
o LAN/WAN technologies
o Some knowledge of TCP/IP Networking
o DNS & DHCP
The role will involve travel to other sites so you will need to have a full driving licence and your own transport.
