Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer/ 3rd Line Support

The Position

Due to growth we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to come and join a busy, experienced team. Working within the IT support team you will provide high quality 3rd line support across all IT infrastructure and services, responsible for solving a broad spectrum of IT support cases by telephone, remotely in the office or on-site. Duties include but not limited to;

Responsibilities

- Proactively monitor and maintain the IT infrastructure servers and services

- Lean on any planned IT works or changes

- Responsible for maintaining the teams rota in the absence of the reporting manager

- Liaise with suppliers to raise any network faults and to ensure these are resolved

- Provide direction in complex problem solving situations and participate in direct interaction with internal staff as required

- Able to work on various technical issues simultaneously

- Willingness to support and mentor junior staff

- Required carry out on board network installations, site installations and server installations

- To carry out routine and planned maintenance on infrastructure and offsite if needed

- Lead to perform trend analysis and problem management

- Monitoring and managing IT systems at Head Office and Galliard sites using monitoring software

- To keep abreast of new developments in the IT and communication Industry

The Person

- Previous experience within an infrastructure role is essential

- Relevant degree or industrial qualification in the appropriate field

- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)

- Strong time management and organisational skills

- Strong attention to detail

- Ability to work in a fast paced environment

- Resilient

Skill & Experience

- Educated to bachelor’s degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience

- Virtualisation - VMware, VSphere, ESXI

- CITRIX - Xendesktop, XenApp, Netscaler

- Server Technologies - Windows Server 2008 and 2012, Exchange 2013, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, File Server, Linux flavours (knowledge needed)

- Database - MS SQL and MySQL experience

- Web server - IIS, Apache

- Networking - LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Routing, IP Addressing, Firewalls and Switching
