Network Manager
A brand-new opportunity has just become available for a Network Manager to join a market-leading business global business at their HQ in Dunstable. The Network Manager will be responsible delivering an efficient, cost effective design and implementation of a world-class corporate network to the business, as well as for ensuring IT Operational support and running of the network and its services.
The Network Manager will lead a global team to deliver and operate a data network which meets current and future business requirements, covering 9 sites worldwide, so experience of managing a geographically dispersed team is essential.
Working as the Network Manager, your role will include:
* Being the design authority for all technical aspects of the network, including network security and protection against vulnerabilities.
* Qualification of the network infrastructure to ensure design and implementation. complies with requirements and relevant standards.
* Managing third-party service, hardware, and software suppliers to ensure delivery against SLAs.
* Recommending technical network enhancements, maintaining an awareness of emerging technologies and providing recommendations for business-enhancing changes.
* Ensuring that the core security systems are kept up-to-date with anti-virus definitions and latest intrusion prevention methods.
To be considered for the Network Manager role, you will need to demonstrate:
* Excellent networking skills, including all aspects of a global corporate network (LAN, WAN, Firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi and network security).
* Experience in managing a geographically-dispersed team across different time zones, cultures, and languages.
* Experience in managing third-party vendors and holding them accountable.
* Possess extensive knowledge of IT policies, standards, procedures and best practices (e.g. ITIL).
