DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Overview

Group Change designs and delivers solutions to enterprise level challenges. It consists of four capability teams: Business Consulting and Architecture, Lean and Agile Operational Excellence, Enterprise Change and the Group Change Practice COE. Enterprise Change delivers large, complex solutions that impact more than one function. There are two specialisms - programmes and merger & acquisition integration. Schroders SAFe Agile is the standard for change delivery in the team.

Overview of role

Using a target operating model (TOM) designed by our Business Consulting & Architecture colleagues, Enterprise Change is leading delivery of an enterprise-wide client on-boarding and data management value stream. We have called this programme and value stream CORE which stands for Client On-Boarding and Resilient Engagement - this is both an easy to say brand identity and a description of the full scope of the work.

The programme mobilised in late 2017 and is expected to last until 2019/20 when we will transition into a persistent value stream and supporting agile release trains. Enterprise Change is looking to increase its capacity, skillset and experience in this area and gain additional support to drive the detailed design and delivery of this programme.

The Business Change Manager will support with the Programme Lead (Release Train Enginner) with managing the implementation roadmap, working with Epic Owners. They will also deputise for the Release Train Engineer where required. They will also work with their Technology colleagues to integrate the new supporting technologies into the plan and new business capability.

Key duties

* Apply Schroders SAFe Agile methodology, standards and behaviour to all work

* Lead the final design and delivery of key functional features of the solution specific to this type of work such as client obligation management and client data insights

* Lead further design of business aspects of the target operating model such as organisations design, interactions and capacity

* Outline and plan incremental epics and capability builds

* Work with the Epic Owner in preparing the business case

* Work with Product Owners to break Epics down into Features and help deliver these where appropriate

* Maintain relationships with vendors and other parties and ensuring alignment with technology teams where necessary

* As required, help deliver components of technology change such as vendor engagement and procurement

Responsibilities of the role

The role will involve:

* Engaging and building positive relationships with the stakeholders within the organisation

* Influencing the approach and agenda for the CORE programme through best practice input, subject-matter expertise and experience and the injection of innovative ideas and ways of thinking

* Challenging conventional wisdom and freely expressing their own opinion

* Understanding the needs of our clients and the business and tailoring the approach accordingly

* Operating as a leader for the rest of the team through their attitude, contribution and use of the Schroders SAFe Agile method

* As required, working seamlessly with colleagues, external consultants and vendors involved in the programme

Overview of the skills and experience required

* Understanding of business change management skills and best practice, gained through experience of working enterprise change or consultancy teams

* Knowledge and experience of delivering integrated business and technology and change using Agile methodologies, preferably SAFe Agile

* An expert in delivering mature operations, ideally using typical lean management approaches and tools such as value stream mapping, voice of the customer, model offices, key performance indicators and analysis

* An expert understanding of change management disciplines, processes and tools, including:

* experience of each of the key stages of change delivery

* planning and progress tracking mechanisms

* effective means of monitoring and managing issues, risks and dependencies

* strong reporting skills

* managing stakeholders

* An expert understanding and experience of implementing continuous improvement at various levels of an organisation

* Ability to prioritise and manage own activities in the best interests of the organisation

* Builds trusting relationships with stakeholders at all levels

* Able to build consensus and influence outcomes, including adapting communication style to suit audience

* Collaborative team player who will want to succeed as part of a high performing team

* Strong communication skills, experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders

* Experience of working with global colleagues and stakeholders and sensitivity to cultural differences and time zones

* Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken

* Educated to a minimum of first degree level. MBA or similar preferred

Overview of Knowledge required

Required

* Financial Services experience ideally investment management, in one or more of the following areas:

* Preferable: Client On-boarding and Data Management

* Desirable:

* Front Office processes as they apply to Equity, Fixed Income and Multi Asset business domains

* Middle and Back Office processes as they apply to Equity, Fixed Income and Multi Asset business domains

* Distribution, marketing, web, collaboration and CRM

* Corporate functions required to support the running of an Asset Management organisation: Risk, Finance, Procurement, HR, Legal and Compliance

* Agile Delivery leadership experience as an RTE/Scrum Master/Product Owner ideally gained in business transformation

Desirable

* Consultancy experience

* SAFe qualification

* Scrum Master qualification (not essential)

* Experience of working with valuestreams

* Relevant Programme, Project or Change Management qualification - MSP, PMI

* Operational Excellent certification - Black Belt, LCS 1c or higher

Overview of the Relationship Management experience required

* Able to build a positive profile across the organisation

* Able to build strong relationships across the organisation from a position of trust

* Some evidence of:

* Creating a working relationship within business domains and establishing a role as a trusted advisor
