A new tech start-up is seeking a Web Designer based in Dunfermline to join its expanding team. The office is located just off the motorway network and within easy walking distance of a train station.You’ll be pioneering progressive web applications in two very different greenfield projects with no legacy code, helping to build innovative apps from scratch as part of a small, dedicated and enthusiastic team. The future of the projects will be building cutting-edge machine learning and AI systems to deliver market- leading software in two very different markets. In time, you will be able to choose which project you wish to focus on as the company grows. The progressive applications will be mobile responsive micro-service based applications, one in the business-to- business e-commerce space creating the first modern trading platforms for foodservice wholesale, pushing through hundreds of millions of pounds of annual order transactions; and the other a consumer-driven project creating a totally fresh approach to bringing people together for friendship, dating and social events in a niche market.
As the Designer, your duties will be to:
Write high quality, testable and maintainable code and should be able to write technical documentation of their code and work. To be a successful Web Designer you will have the following skills and experience:
Essential:
Exceptional responsive UI/UX design experience and creative skills with pixel-perfect attention to detail.Significant experience designing for interactive applications rather than only static websites.A passion for creating great user journeys, with an excellent understanding of usability testing across multiple browsers, devices and user types.Very strong HTML5 and CSS3 experience (incl e.g. SASS/LESS) with the skill to hand code.Experience creating mock-ups, wireframes and rapidly prototyping visual concepts.Experience working closely with developers and back-end engineers.
Also useful:
Experience in a team developing a Progressive App.Working knowledge of JavaScript and capabilities of Progressive Apps.Knowledge of basic ethical SEO and security fundamentals.Good verbal and written English language communications skills are essential.Experience working to tight deadlines in an Agile team is essential.
In return, the Web Designer will receive a salary of up to £35,000 per annum.
