The Technical Lead is responsible for all technical aspects of commercial projects with engineering services including but not limited to technical review of proposals, job setup, operations support, data QC, data processing, analyses and interpretation, report writing.

The Technical Lead will be required to work closely with sales, operations, customers, and the technical team to successfully execute projects and to meet and exceed customer requirements.

Upon completion of projects, the Technical Lead will present data and results to customers either in person (some travel required) or via Skype/Webex.

Key Accountabilities

* Work independently and with staff to execute commercial projects from start to finish.

* Provide technical and operational engineering expertise to external customers in a professional manner.

* Support Field Specialists in implementing monitoring services at the wellsite.

* Pre-job planning, job execution and post-job analysis and delivery.

* Collaborate with OFS Field Service Engineers on matters pertaining data quality and field parameter testing. This task can be performed remotely and on occasion in the field.

* QC of real-time data at the wellsite and remotely.

* Perform tasks using standard procedures and workflows developed and provide feedback to management to improve quality and efficiency where necessary.

* Collaborate with the software engineers to continuously improve proprietary software algorithms and graphical user interfaces; determine features necessary for facilitating data processing or modelling; to include software evaluation.

* Interface with clients to collect relevant information and data necessary for modelling or processing projects; generate final reports and present to customer.

* Interpretation of DAS and DTS data.

* Perform assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles for design of work.

* Work with signal processing team for model derivation and implementation (acoustic, thermal, numerical) for qualitative and quantitative analysis.

* Assist in product development, including software design, advanced reporting and analysis and productizing R&D analysis.

* Keep current with new and changing information by attending continuing education courses, preparing and reading industry papers, and attending trade shows.

* Travel to and work at well sites to provide field acquisition QC and meet customers.

* Promote safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and comply with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations according to Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines.

* Follow HSE procedures at all times.

* Collaborate with and provide training to more junior personnel as needed for execution of projects.

Key Capabilities/Knowledge

* Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.

* Must possess hearing and speech to communicate with customers and/or employees in person and over the phone.

* Good understanding of oil and gas engineering concepts and practises and the interpretation of data within these fields.

* Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with a key emphasis on data processing and analyses.

* Possess design skills to translate concepts and information into images, modify designs and apply design principles

* Self-motivated and strong team player

* Must be able to work in an office setting and at customer sites around the world

* Some travel may be required approximately 10 - 20% of the time

* Ability to work out of hours depending on business needs

* Must be able to work in an office setting and at well sites.

* occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, in high precarious places, around fumes or airborne particles and toxic chemicals, in outdoor weather conditions where there will occasionally be a risk of electrical shock

* must be able to work in an environment that has moderate noise level

* must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands and dealing with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events

* Ability to use standard office equipment including phone, copier, email and computer

* Ability to work evenings and weekends depending on business needs and work long hours when necessary to reach goals

Experience & Qualifications

* Bachelor's or master's degree in petroleum engineering, geosciences or related discipline.

* Mid-level oil and gas experience; or 5 to 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

* Proficient in MATLAB and/or Python.

* Experience in reservoir modelling packages and Seismic Processing applications preferred

* Experience in working in upstream oil & gas environment such as borehole seismic, completions, production, artificial lift.
