I am seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer for an interesting little company near Guildford. The company develop sensor technology, and they require an experienced firmware engineer to help drive development and be a lead figure in a growing, well respected business.

The role is varied and you will be required to apply your problem solving skills on a daily basis. Candidates should enjoy participating in a dynamic team, working towards deadlines and delivering excellent technical solutions. You will be required to communicate effectively in a wide range of environments, both with colleagues and clients.

They are looking for a candidate who can develop full lifecycle firmware for mission critical systems operating in harsh environments, building on existing communication protocols and develop new protocols for future tools.

Key Skills:

* A degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or Mathematics

* A minimum of 5 years' experience in embedded development

* Strong analytic and problem-solving skills which support custom algorithm and communication protocol design

* Familiar with good coding practices. This includes source control and static code analysis

* Bare-metal Programming

* Practical knowledge of wireless protocols, low-level understanding of interfacing techniques and communication

* Embedded C and experience with 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers (PIC)

* An understanding of digital electronics and ability to follow circuit diagrams and use tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analysers

Desirable Skills:

* Experience with DSP

* Low power battery powered systems

* Experience designing high reliability systems

* Labview

* Additional experience in programming in a PC based language for GUI development would be beneficial
