Trade Compliance Specialist

Trade Compliance Specialist based in London

10 month initial contract

My client are currently looking for a Trade Compliance Specialist to bring knowledge of global trade compliance into a dynamic and complex environment. The successful Trade Compliance Specialist will join the Global Trade Compliance team to assist subject-matter experts, outside counsel and corporate auditors on risk assessment and in the development of new policies and procedures. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to provide advice on importing and goods based on their analysis of regulations.

The successful candidate will develop knowledge of supply chains along with experience in defining compliance requirements. You also have an ability to interact and influence at all levels throughout a large, geographically dispersed company.

Responsibilities:

- Participate in import and export compliance audits and transaction testing.

- Identify potential risk areas and advice on compliance processes and procedures to mitigate these risks.

- Develop and conduct internal training programs.

- Register new legal entities to import into countries across the EMEA region.

- Assist with classification of goods.

- Assist with filings related to export licenses and reporting requirements.

Requirements:

- BA/BSc degree or equivalent practical experience.

- Industry experience working with EU, Middle East or African import and/or export laws and regulation.

- Fast learner and ability to take ownership of projects.

- Strong project management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects.

- Background in accounting or auditing a plus.
