Role: SAP Payroll Consultant with ABAP skills

Location: Derby

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6-12 months

The HR Support Consultant is expected to be able to help the end client with answering queries, resolving issues and incidents and providing best practice where required. The candidate will also work on Requests for Changes and enhancements. The candidate will be expected to have a strong knowledge of SAP HR ECC 6.0 and SAP Payroll, but also the ability to support legacy ABAP programs. The candidate is expected to be able to work independently and as part of a team, being able to demonstrate the ability to develop other colleagues.

What you'll do

* Provide Technical & Functional support for SAP HR and SAP payroll related queries

* Resolution of incidents/problems for the client

* Creating and executing test scripts for making SAP HR functional checks

* Creating estimates for HR functional and technical changes

* Provide Technical & Functional support for HR ABAP programs

* Assisting with upgrades to newer versions of the application

* Creating/updating functional specifications and testing of fixes and enhancements

* Liaising internally with BASIS, SAP functional teams, help desk and externally with end client staff

* Following ITIL processes such as incident/problem and change management procedures

* Planned out of hours work will be required e.g. releases/system checks

* The applicant will require at least BPSS clearance / SC clearance for secure site attendance

What you'll bring

* At least 5-6 year's experience in SAP HR (Payroll, Time, Personnel Administration, Reporting)

* Knowledge of UK Payroll and UK Tax Legislation

* Experience in writing/debugging HR ABAP code

* Worked on at least two SAP HR implementation projects

* Experience of Workday will be useful, including integration to and from SAP HR

* Certification in SAP HR and/or SAP Payroll is desirable

* General HR and Payroll functional knowledge

* Experience of working within an Application Support environment to ITIL processes and Project Execution Methodologies
