Job Role

It’s important that we achieve our objectives in the most efficient and resource-friendly way, and as such the DVSA is proud to support a highly-skilled programme and project assurance team. In this role, you will therefore:

Lead and manage this important work, ensuring that the team are meeting their objectives.

Develop our continuous improvement processes, devising strategies that will manage programme assurance.

Devise a governance framework that will support the delivery of all projects.

Identify opportunities that might otherwise have gone unnoticed, seeking out risks and investing time in ensuring these are mitigated.

About you

Qualified to PRINCE 2 Practitioner level, or with a qualification in Portfolio, Programmes and Projects (P30) or Managing Successful Programmes, you will have an excellent grasp of project management methodologies and tools. With the confidence to report to a management board, you will be a collaborative team-player with outstanding leadership and communication skills. If you have knowledge of the transport sector, that would be an added bonus, and you will have experience of participating in Gateway reviews and meeting targets. Your ability to see the bigger picture and translate this into actionable strategies will make you an invaluable part of the team.

About us

We are committed to changing for the better and finding new ways to work that will provide an even better service to our customers. And just as we expect our staff to work as a team to produce high calibre results, we too are committed to producing an exceptional level of job satisfaction for our skilled people. What that translates to is a good work/life balance, enhanced with a generous benefits package and pension options. You will also receive plenty of training and development opportunities to ensure your industry knowledge remains current.
