Keep vital technology safe, secure and ready for our officers
Our officers use all kinds of tools and technology to police and protect London. And naturally, we want to keep this valuable equipment safe. That’s why we have a Technical Stores Unit - and now we need a Technical Stores Officer to manage operations. Join us and you’ll not only be eligible for some outstanding rewards with the Met. You’ll be supporting front line policing and playing your part in helping to keep the capital safe.
This is a role where you’ll be taking care of our technology and keeping close track of its use. Every day, you’ll check the security of the stores and make sure that access is only possible for supervised personnel. You’ll also manage the flow of equipment in and out of the stores, logging its movements on an asset database. It’s important that our team have all the technology they need to do their jobs, so you’ll stay in close contact with Engineering staff to make sure you’re meeting their needs.
Perhaps you’ve worked in stores or a warehouse within the Retail industry. Or maybe you’ve managed the flow of goods in and out of your workplace. Whatever your background, you’ll be used to working with databases or procurement platforms, and have proven IT skills. It’s also important that you can work with a wide range of people including staff, suppliers and your team. With initiative and the drive to make operations even better, you’ll strive to provide a great service and look to make improvements.
In return, we offer generous holiday entitlement of 28 days (33 days after five years’ services) and a Civil Service pension. There’s also our unique Met Rewards scheme, which offers discounts with leading retailers.
