Junior Systems Engineer - Manchester - £25k+

Spring Technology's client based in Manchester are looking for a Junior Systems Engineer to join on a major Cloud based transformation programme.

This will be a permanent position and the salary will be paying upwards from £25,000 (depending on experience).

Key Responsibilities -

- Planning and implementing new systems

- Suggesting new ideas and solutions to problems

- Maintaining and improving existing systems

- Determining bottlenecks in the current systems and suggesting solutions to problems

- Determining issues with business Internet connectivity, WAN technologies, remote access and VPN configuration

Technical Criteria -

- At least 1 years of professional experience as a system admin, IT admin or infrastructure engineer.

- Exposure with either Distributed Databases, Docker, CI, GIT or Chef (highly desirable).

- Some experience in any of the following is desirable:

> Kubernetes

> AWS, esp EC2, ECS, S3

> CI, Travis preferred

> Elastic stack

> Linux, bash (basic scripting)

> macOS

> Mesos or dc/os

> Kafka

> RabbitMQ

> MongoDB

> Cassandra

> Networking, load balancers, firewalls (Cisco knowledge a big plus)

> Telecoms: Asterisk, SIP, Polycom
