Spring Technology are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our leading public sector clients.

Based in Cardiff the client are looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager on an initial 6 month contract.

The Portfolio Manager who is responsible for Governance and PPM standards.

The successful candidate would be working with a team of project managers and the Assurance, Benefits and Change Team to deliver high value projects and changes for the business.

Specific role requirements are

*Pre-project - Ensure the case for new change initiatives and their benefits are defined, and secure the required approvals

*Provide day to day support, leadership and mentoring for the project managers and assurance, benefits and change team; resolving escalated issues and raising levels of performance

*Be responsible for Portfolio Reporting to internal Governance Boards

*Manage the Portfolio Budget, escalated risks and issues

*Ensure that delivery complies with all relevant standards (both internal and wider BEIS and GDS standards)

*Effectively manage relationships with customers and stakeholders both throughout the business and in external organisations

*Contribute to continuous improvement within the team and profession

Personal experience requirements

*Expert in delivery of projects or programmes with budgets in excess of £1m and a diverse range of stakeholders

*Expert in agile ways of working as outlined in the Government's Service Design Manual

*Experienced in the development of robust business cases for both internal and external audiences

*Experience of Portfolio Governance, standards and reporting

*Able to drive continuous improvement of quality, standards and processes and champion best practice in relation to project delivery and programme management

*Experience in providing coaching and mentoring to those involved in delivering change and projects

You will have experience, preferably supported by qualifications in any or all of the following. Please state Foundation or Practitioner where relevant and give details of any other PPM qualifications held:

*PRINCE 2

*Agile Project Management

*Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)

*Management of Portfolios (MoP)

*Certified ScrumMaster / Agile project management
