We are working on behalf of our Abingdon-based client, a global technology company who create powerful analytics tools to harness and make better use of big data. They work across multiple countries for multiple clients and due to continued success and growth have a new vacancy for an Application Support Analyst. Working within the Software Support team, this important role will see the Application Support Analyst offering technical triage services for various bespoke and highly technical software applications.

In this exciting new role, the Application Support Analyst will take responsibility for the 2nd Line software / application support queue. The successful Graduate Support Engineer will have come from a strong academic background and possess an enquiring mind and thrive on solving problems using a logical, investigative approach in order to resolve complex problems.

In this role, the Graduate / Application Support Engineer will be responsible for:

                     Instigate the initial investigation into issues raised through a variety of means including liaising with development teams, researching technical documentation and past incident histories

                     Either fix the issue or escalate it to other team members.

                     Manage issues through to resolution by following up escalated issues, documenting progress and ensuring issues get resolved within our contracted timescales.

                     Proactively liaise with the customer to keep them informed of progress.

Skills and Experience required for the Application Support Analyst role include:

                     BSc / degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline,

                     Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability and confidence to liaise with users at all levels including senior management,

                     Ability to understand software from both a technical and user point of view,

                     A keen interest in being involved in IT / software support,

                     Ability to juggle several priorities at once,

                     Work well in a team and work collaboratively with others.
