My client are a leading provider of quality Network Security Solutions and Support and are currently looking for a Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their ever-growing team. The Network Infrastructure Engineer will play a key part in actively managing and troubleshooting vital Network infrastructure. The 2nd Line Network Infrastructure Engineer will be exposed to a wide range of modern technologies in an environment that rewards talent and provides a platform for further career progression.

This Network Infrastructure Engineer will be within the 2nd Line Infrastructure team, which provides support to a wide range of Managed Service (network, security and infrastructure) contracts utilising the ITIL framework. This Network Infrastructure Engineer (2nd line) role is based between Swindon and Oxford and will involve occasional travel to other sites to support project requirements.

Key responsibilities of the Network Infrastructure Engineer include:

                                                                                 Support and troubleshooting of network systems across multiple platforms in remote environments.

                                                                                 Supporting server OS’ (Windows and Linux) and applications in customer environments.

                                                                                 Management of server, virtualisation, and storage environments

                                                                                 Resolution of reported faults escalated by the Service Desk to 2nd Line Support within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

                                                                                 Ensuring all actions carried out on issues and incidents are recorded accurately in the Service Management toolset.

                                                                                 The deployment of both standard and complex changes to the customers’ infrastructures

                                                                                 Managing test and rollout of security patches, software upgrades, and new software applications.

                                                                                 Participate in project work on new system implementations and changes arising from continuous service improvement plans

Key Skills and Experience required by the Network Consultant / 2nd Line Engineer:

Essential:

                                                                                 Networking LAN/WAN (Ideally Cisco, Fortinet & Juniper)

                                                                                 VMware ESX and vCenter

                                                                                 Server OS support (Window and Linux)

Desirable Skills/Experience include:

                                                                                 Windows Server 2008/2012 AD environment

                                                                                 Linux (RHEL and CentOS)

                                                                                 Microsoft SharePoint 2013

                                                                                 SCCM 2012

                                                                                 Microsoft Exchange Server 2010/2013

                                                                                 AV Products (e.g. McAfee EPO and Sophos)

                                                                                 Remedy

                                                                                 SolarWinds (NPM/NCM/SAM).

This new Network Infrastructure Engineer position is based in Oxfordshire, easily commutable from Oxford, Witney, Swindon, Shrivenham, Farringdon, Cirencester, Newbury, Reading and many others. As there is some travel to client sites, a car and UK driving licence is required.
