To utilise this funding and continue to improve our technology and systems our IT team is expanding and has a new opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer to join the team and make a real difference.

About the role:

Working within the IT Systems Team, you will review and make recommendations to improve the IT systems estate. The role also covers maintenance and support of both our on premises systems and those in the cloud (Azure). The systems infrastructure includes multiple datacentres, VMware vSphere 6 environment, fibre switches, multiple SAN’s, load balancers, multiple tier 1,2 and 3 systems and services.

You will report to the IT Systems Team Manager and work alongside other teams, including the Desktop, Comms, Support Desk, security and web teams, to deliver a first-class IT support service to the Trust.

You will act as an escalation point for all technical issues and to take ownership of those issues through to resolution, working closely with team members and System Team Manager. You will also participate in the change control process to ensure all changes are applied to live environment in a controlled manner.

About you:

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, experienced and ambitious Systems Engineer to drive improvements in the IT team while maintaining SLAs, OLAs and KPIs using ITIL V3 principles.

You will already be operating at an advanced technical level within an ICT environment and therefore have highly technical and relevant experience in the similar role. You should be educated to appropriate degree level or have suitable equivalent experience. Certified to VMware, MCSE or MCSA in Cloud Platform & Infrastructure (Azure), Prince2 and ITIL qualification or equivalent experience is essential, with other relevant certifications being highly desirable.
