Senior Web Developer - Frontend developer

Location: York Science Park

£35k - £50K

We're currently looking for bright, enthusiastic Web Developer to work in our York-based team.

If you have a good commercial grounding in web development and a thorough understanding of object-oriented design and good coding practices, such as Unit Testing and Automated Builds, then we want to hear from you. As part of a client-facing team, you'll be enhancing the user interfaces of products and bespoke solutions. You'll have the ability to work independently, but also as part of a team, to ensure the end product meets high-quality standards

Skillset

You'll have solid experience of front-end development with extensive experience in hand-coded HTML, CSS and especially JavaScript, as well as experience of frameworks/libraries such as AngularJS, Ember.js, Backbone.js and React.js.

We also love Developers who are technical and hands-on with experience of the development lifecycle and an unwavering commitment to design, build and deployment excellence.

What this role involves…

*Supporting and developing products for new and existing customers within the media and entertainment industry

*Delivering complex, custom User Interfaces for digital media clients

*Working closely with other members of the delivery, development and support teams in a collaborative and agile environment.

*Working independently and autonomously under the direction of senior team members.

*Writing quality code for deployment of on-schedule deliverables.

*Working as a team to ensure client's end product meets quality standards for enterprise software applications

What we'll need you to bring…

*Commercial exposure to Web UI development - using JavaScript libraries with CSS, HTML

*Firm understanding of web concepts, modern JavaScript Frameworks/Libraries (ECMA2016), HTML 5, CSS, HTTP, URI, REST

*Experience writing and supporting highly deployable, web-based software applications

*Knowledge of Continuous Build approaches using tools such as Git, GoCD and Gitlab CI

*Experience of designing and undertaking test-driven development.

*Ability to demonstrate experience with open source frameworks

*An understanding of Object Oriented and Agile approaches and methods

*Show a desire for design, build and deployment excellence.

*Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with a desire to get to a resolution.

*Possess a collaborative and enthusiastic approach to everyday work.
