The role

It’s an important role, as you’ll help provide a single point of contact for IT users and other government IT Service Desks across the UK. As a Technician, you’ll also monitor and record all support activity, use specific Service Desk software, and keep users up-to-date with any progress. This also includes logging, prioritising and assigning service calls, escalating when appropriate, and communicating progress to anyone relevant. And remember, you’re not in this alone. Which is why you’ll collaborate with other Service Desks and support teams, and help with documentation, reviews and revisions.

About you
To join, you’ll need to come with customer service experience and a clear and courteous telephone manner. You’ll also know how to use Microsoft Office, and have a strong understanding and passion for all things IT. While not essential, knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library best practice, call logging and providing IT support would help.

Beyond that, you’ll bring with you the ability to plan your own work, and be open to learning and change. You’re also a strong communicator who works well with a team, and is comfortable talking to people at different professional levels.
