Bringing together the resources of 30 member states, EUMETSAT observes the atmosphere, ocean, and land surfaces from space using a system of satellites 365 days a year. Our data is vital for weather forecasts that help to protect lives and property, as well as monitoring the environment and our changing climate.

We have a rare career opportunity for Software / Computer Engineers with experience of developing public-facing web services, including user interfaces and web application back-ends to join our Software Engineering and Maintenance Team.

You will possess excellent technical knowledge of user interface technologies, network protocols, security and web service protocols and be able to deliver efficient and pragmatic solutions, taking into account the requirements EUMETSAT and our partners. You should have a keen eye for continuous improvement opportunities for processes, systems, service and delivery. Building excellent working relationships and collaborating with both internal and external customers is a key aspect of this role. You will be responsible for operating, integrating and upgrading our ICT web services so that we can meet the challenge of providing relevant and up to date data and information to our partners and users. Experience of a project management methodology (PRINCE2) and having worked in an ISO9001 environment would be advantageous.

With experience of content management systems, interface technologies, frameworks and the Java ecosystems, you will bring your expertise to our team. You must be a team player, with the ability to collaborate with your colleagues and our international partners. In this role, you will be able to demonstrate your proactive attitude and your ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced operational environment.
