Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Programme Manager to join our Group IT team within Whitbread. You will lead a small team of Project Managers and be responsible for the delivery of IT projects from various head office functions such as finance.

What you will be doing
As the Group Programme Manager, you will be accountable for the successful delivery from the IT Project Managers and be key contributor to the success of the group programme. You will need a can-do attitude, to be hands-on with strong leadership skills. To be successful you will need the ability to build and maintain high performing teams, along with the ability to manage difficult situations and hold those to account for late or poor delivery.
A key part of the role will be to manage third party vendors, working collaboratively with them at the same time as proactively identifying potential risks and addressing them before impacting deliverables and being challenging when required. You will also need to work within Whitbread’s governance structure and ensure all projects within the programme are delivered in accordance to this. This will include chairing the IT project board meetings and supporting and gaining approval for change requests
Within the role you will be accountable for the overall IT budget. This will include working with the programme management team to ensure budgets are reviewed and reallocated to meet programme objectives. You will also need to manage resource and ensures appropriate IT resources are assigned to the right projects
What we are looking for
-Experience of delivering large scale, complex IT programmes
-Knowledge of programme and project management methodology and managing full lifecycle of programmes
-Management of multiple technical workstreams
-Strong vendor management, ensuring deliverable timelines are met
-Experience of managing projects in HR or Finance would be advantageous but not essential
-Ability to build and maintain productive relations with stakeholders, based on transparency
-Strong communication, influencing skills & negotiation skills
-People management experience within a programme context
-Sound judgement particularly in relation to programme risk and issues management
-Good programme budget management skills
-Strong team working skills inspiring trust and acting as a catalyst for success
-Understanding of technology directions
