Keeping the country safe.

Be the link.

We work against everything from terrorism to espionage and from cyber threats to more traditional technology challenges. In our world, problems are boundless, but through your experience, innovation and strategic thinking we have means to resolve them. Here at MI5, we harness a range of experts to protect the UK from any threats to national security. This means that every day we collectively do extraordinary things, tirelessly working to safeguard our country.

About the role

As an Enterprise Architect, you’ll need to understand the breadth of the MI5 vision to get crucial insight into business problems and challenges, so that you can set the right strategic direction for programmes of work. Drawing on your ability to consider business problems holistically, you will produce business/technology roadmaps, option papers or strategic briefings resulting in the creation of a well-formed portfolio of work.

Much of the role will see you keeping up to date with the latest technology and innovations. It’s all about staying one step ahead - knowing what’s on the market, and what’s yet to come.

About you

A credible individual, you’ll inspire confidence and influence stakeholders. With outstanding communication skills, you’ll comfortably present complex topics or concepts back to business and technology seniors.

You’ll also be able to speak to people of different levels - translating technical jargon into everyday terms. It’s essential that you have experience of overseeing programmes, as you will be responsible for various proposals at any one time.
