The role
Committed to preparing for HSE’s future, we are currently enjoying an exciting period of change as we modernise our IT capabilities. These ambitious developments will enable an overall business transformation, so we are keen to recruit an experienced Architect with skills in data architecture and modelling. Involved in a variety of fascinating data-based challenges that will underpin HSE activities, your remit will stretch from ensuring existing data-related IT solutions provided by external suppliers are meeting the required standards, to using your expert knowledge to identify areas that need enhancing. As a key part of this change programme, you will develop our data architecture, data dictionary and entity models, plus you will be our lead expert in conceptual, logical and physical data modelling. You will also offer technical leadership guidance for issues concerning data management and quality - so your contribution will be of the utmost importance to the entire team.
Experience required
As a Data Architect with experience of working on challenging IT infrastructure, we will expect you to be competent in developing architecture solutions such as models and dictionaries for case management systems. You will also have a good knowledge of developing roadmaps, strategies, architectural standards, principles and patterns. Coming from a background in which you have enhanced existing IT solutions and developed new ones, you will be adept at operating within a professional IT programme or project management environment, working collaboratively with partners and end users to devise innovative solutions. As such, you will have outstanding communication skills to complement your strong database design and data modelling techniques, and your knowledge of architecture frameworks (TOGAF and Zachman) will be exemplary.
