We have an excellent opportunity for a 2nd Line Support Analyst to join our client just north of Oxford. As the new 2nd Line Support Analyst you will joining a thriving and reputable company who provide dedicated smart IT support services to clients around Oxfordshire. The ideal 2nd Line Support Analyst will be someone who has a passion for IT and technology in general. Furthermore, the right candidate will be engaging and helpful in client-facing situations, able to assist and consult clients on the latest technologies. Training and guidance will offered by more senior Technical Engineer as well as the opportunity to pick up important qualifications and certifications. The 2nd Line Support Analyst will be given all of the tools and guidance to allow them to excel their career into a 3rd Line Support position.

Skills and experience essential to this 2nd Line Support Analyst include:

                                         Experience in a commercial IT support role, providing IT support to varied organisations

                                         Substantial experience of MS Windows and Office, both previous and current versions

                                         Implementation of Office 365 products, Outlook, SharePoint, Skype etc

                                         Good experience of networking and firewall setup and operation. LAN & WAN

                                         In-depth experience with cloud services, in particular Office365

                                         Ability to undertake fault diagnosis of a range of IT equipment and familiarity with various diagnostic tools

                                         Good interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with all levels of people, whether users, business managers, suppliers, or other technical staff

                                         Good written communication, ability to write useful and effective notes and user instructions

                                         Patching and updating servers and systems

                                         Good Experience of VoIP technology

                                         Experience managing printers and other business peripherals.

Selection criteria - desirable experience

                                         Microsoft Active Directory

                                         Exchange (all versions)- Performing routine exchange tasks

                                         Office 365 Migration from Exchange

                                         Apple and Linux platforms

                                         Virtual computing, VMWare and Hyper-V

                                         FortiGate or similar business-class firewalls.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone currently working in a 2nd Line role but wanting to expand and develop your skills. You must be an organized and self-motivated individual with good communication skills and have a positive attitude. While you will be supported by and part of a team you must feel comfortable working and learning under you own initiative.

This new position is based just north of Oxford and is commutable from places such as Kidlington, Witney, Swindon, Didcot, Abingdon, Newbury, Oxford, Kidlington, Bicester, Banbury, Long Hanborough and many more besides.

Please note, due to the requirements of visiting client’s onsite, a car and driving licence (or motorbike) is required for this position!
