SEO Senior Project Support Officer

Croydon, London - £39,333 - £45,232 + Benefits

We have an exciting opportunity with one of our high profile government clients based in Croydon, South London. They have one of largest IT estates in the UK that is engaged with by several million customers each year.

As a result of ongoing growth within their Infrastructure and Platform (I&P) department they are seeking a Project Support Officer to join the team. You will be working closely with the I&P programme management office ('hub'), championing their process and ensuring that they are effectively embedded and used across the programmes. You will have a can-do attitude whilst advancing your skills and capabilities to move forward your career development plan.

Role Responsibilities:

* Determine weekly priorities and activities and assign tasks to the junior PSO's in the team.

* Establish and maintain project filing strategies and filing systems.

* Lead the development, implementation and oversight of the MS Project Plans, Risk Logs, Stakeholder Logs, Project Reports/ Dashboards, key financial and change controls.

* Lead professional stakeholder relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and act as the lead point of contact.

* Work closely with their line manager (Senior Executive Officer (SEO) PSO) to determine weekly priorities and activities.

* Actively support the Head of PBMO, Head of PSO Profession, PMO Manager and Programme Managers when required.

* Establish a personal SMART development career plan to demonstrate commitment in progressing in the Programme/Project Management Officer Profession.

Experience required:

* Experience of people management and developing teams.

* Strong leadership skills with experience of leading teams.

* Proactive individual, able to work in a fast-paced environment whilst managing own time and priorities effectively.

* Experience working in a project and/or programme environment.

* Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues at every level within an organisation.

* Excellent organisational skills, and the ability to develop and implement effective administrative processes.

* Proficient in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
