Senior SOC Specialist

Permanent positions based in Swansea - £37,428 - £42,991

Are you an experienced cyber security professional who would like the opportunity to play a key role within our Security Operations Centre? You will work as part of our Cyber Security Services team, providing cyber security consultancy services for projects and business as usual activities and supporting ongoing compliance and accreditation. We deliver significant and high profile on-line services to the public and caring for the key Driver and Vehicle databases which are part of the UK Critical National Infrastructure, results in cyber security being viewed as an essential activity, in which the organization continues to invest. We have an extensive change program to build world class digital services, and in that context getting the security right is an imperative. Cyber security is currently seen as a key area within Government, addressing a Tier 1 Threat and being a key enabler for the delivery of on-line services. DVLA's role in delivering significant on-line services to the public and caring for the key Driver and Vehicle databases which are part of the UK Critical National Infrastructure, results in cyber security being viewed as an essential activity, in which the organisation continues to invest. DVLA has an extensive change program to build world class digital services, and in that context getting the security right is an imperative. The successful candidates will work as part of the Cyber Security Services team, providing cyber security consultancy services for projects and business as usual activities and supporting ongoing compliance and accreditation.

We are looking for security professionals with substantial experience, but this technically fascinating role will provide opportunities to broaden that already significant experience.

You will have the opportunity to:-

* Apply your extensive knowledge of cyber and information security and substantial experience in working as a Tier 3 SOC analyst.

* Utilise your knowledge and experience to evaluate security events, and investigate and manage security incidents.

* To a large degree manage your own time and resources to deliver the required outcomes, and share responsibility for managing Tier 1 and 2 SOC analysts.

* Be actively engaged in the major change program being implemented at DVLA, including playing an important role in solution evaluation and technology selection.

* Develop and maintain good relationships with a wide range of stakeholders

* Work as part of a team to deliver the broader cyber security services

* Develop progress your own skills and career and also to actively coach and develop others

Essential Experience

* Extensive knowledge of Cyber Security

* Resource Management Experience

* Substantial SOC experience

* Experience of commercial and contract management..

* ITIL v3 Foundation

* CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional)

* PCIRM (Practitioners Certificate in Information Risk Management)
