A brand-new opportunity has just become available for an Infrastructure Engineer join a successful retail business at their Head Office in Peterborough.

As the Infrastructure Engineer, you will support and maintain the company's technical infrastructure, contributing to its development and improvement to support the business as it continues to grow. The successful Infrastructure Engineer will also be responsible for delivering changes to the core infrastructure with minimal disruption to the wider business and customers.

Working as an Infrastructure Engineer, your role will include:

* Management of infrastructure configuration including firewall, networks, servers, software install, licences and ensuring system availability meets business requirements.

* Contributing to the infrastructure architecture, design and operation, supporting how it fits both the long term and short term needs of the business.

* Engaging, developing and managing relationships with key parties, departments and stakeholders across the business, along with the outsourced Data Centre, Cloud and other Infrastructure service providers.

* Contributing to the creation and maintenance of an asset database of all the hardware components and models to provide the insight of the age mix, supportability and life of the assets is clear and to drive the architecture investment roadmap.

As the Infrastructure Engineer, you will need to demonstrate:

* Experience of managing and delivering infrastructure for internal and external teams in fast moving real time environments.

* Experience of Risk Analysis, delivering tasks within a project.

* Familiarity with current industry trends and differing technologies and their merits including practical experience of WAN, LAN, Server, Storage, Wireless and virtualised components.

* Familiarity with technologies in consumer centric businesses including web, mobile and fulfilment technologies.

Salary: £35K - £40K (depending on experience) + benefits
