Business Development Manager required to join market leading software company based in Hertford who specialise in providing software solutions to both the public and academic sectors. You will join a company with an established reputation for both great products and excellent customer service. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated Business Development Manager to join an existing team, working on an established client providing support for market leading products.

As a key contact for customers, you will create and manage opportunities, retain and grow the business. The core objective of this role is to provide a sales and support service for established and new products to existing and new customers.

This includes regular account calls and visits for existing customers, ensuring the highest level of customer service is provided; whilst also identifying new business needs and selling the relevant products to these customers.

Critical for this Business Development Manager role is the need to develop strong working relationships with customers. Strong client communication skills are essential, plus the ability to communicate technical concepts both inside and outside the business.

Responsibilities:

      •     Primary contact point for customers

      •     Identifying and converting leads into sales

      •     Meeting financial targets and KPIs

      •     Management of tender responses (as required)

      •     Liaising internally with commercial and product teams

      •     Communicating market knowledge and feedback to the business

The successful applicant will have:

      •     An outgoing personality with a can do attitude

      •     Experience in a similar sales role

      •     Interest in technology, experience of working for a software house, or knowledge of the public sector (all advantageous but not essential)

      •     First class communication skills (phone, email and face to face)

      •     Solid administration and organisational skills

      •     Excellent interpersonal skills

      •     IT literacy

      •     A business related degree (preferred)

      •     Full UK driving licence
