The Java Software Engineer / Developer will need some commercial experience, ideally with both back end (Java) and also some front end or web exposure.

The Java Software Engineer will liaise with other developers and team members to agree and deliver new functionality and resolve bugs in the existing software platform. A challenging and dynamic environment will also allow the Java Software Engineer to learn industry leading skills and hone technical abilities with Java and beyond!

Good knowledge of Java as well as experience with good web technology knowledge including CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Ajax and JSP are desired. The Java Software Engineer will also need to have good team working and communication skills and have a flexible and adaptable approach.

The main technical skills/experience required for this Software Engineer (Java) position include:

Java 7/8

JSP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Ajax

Spring, Hibernate and other open source frameworks

Apache Solr

MySQL

Experience of Spring & Hibernate

Experience of MySQL

SOAP/REST web services using CXF

Jenkins, Mercurial, Jira, FishEye. IntelliJ, JRebel

Linux

Apache Tomcat, Apache Solr, MySQL

SOAP/REST web services

Primarily working on an exciting enterprise Java platform with the following technologies in the LAMP stack:

PHP

Drupal

Python
