Role - Systems Engineer

Location - Chorley, Lancashire

Duration - 6 months

My client is urgently looking for an experienced Systems Engineer who can provide project and support work within the Weblogic Application Server, Apache Web Server and APEX technology space.

Essential Skills:

Broad range of understanding in IT technology, in particular:

- UNIX / LINUX

- networking standards and technology

- web services technology

- Application server technology

- Good communication skills and must be a team player

Main responsibilities:

Support existing Application Server environments based on Oracle Weblogic Application Server, IBM WebSphere Application Server, JBOSS, Apache Web Server, and CA Siteminder. Willing to participate in on-call rota and sometimes work out-of-hours to deploy patches.

Project work to implement new environments, review LTM / PTM and make recommendations. Write support documentation to be able to support the new environment. Perform internal knowledge transfer within the team.

Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply. Please note successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment which can take up to a minimum 10 weeks.
