What you will be doing

We are seeking a SharePoint Analyst / Developer who will form part of a team responsible for the development and maintenance of the IT systems and services employed their legal and business support departments. The post-holder will be involved in all phases of the development of business-changing enterprise solutions, predominantly using Microsoft SharePoint and other related technologies to improve and expand the existing Knowledge Management solution. The post-holder will also contribute significantly to third-tier support processes, resolving problems, documenting root causes and improving service levels.

Main responsibilities

Systems Analysis, Development and Administration

* Analyse / review current information and knowledge management assets and in consultation with key business sponsors determine future requirements

* Methodically investigate, analyse and document business requirements.

* Produce formal documentation and specifications.

* Design, develop and maintain key software components using Microsoft SharePoint Server and other related technologies in accordance with company Software and Security Development Lifecycles.

* Test developed software and resolve any issues, ensuring company's systems operate in a reliable manner.

* Ensure appropriate documentation is created and maintained for all system developments.

* Work with company's Project Managers, providing accurate development estimates as requested.

* Ensure systems change management is carried out in accordance with agreed standards and procedures.

Service Management

* Administer and maintain the company's systems as required in accordance with the needs of the business.

* Provide technical and user support on the company's software solutions.

* Provide a key point of liaison between the business and the IS Department, ensuring a rapid response to all problems, issues, ideas, and queries raised.

* Develop implementation plans required to deal with complex requests for change, evaluating any risks to the integrity of the company's infrastructure associated with the change.

* Support other members of the Development team and of the IS Department as a whole.

Skills and Experience

Essential

* A minimum of 2 years experience developing Microsoft SharePoint 2013 solutions.

* A minimum of 2 business Analysis experience.

* A good understanding of CSS, HTML and JavaScript.

* Ability to write SQL queries, stored procedures and ability to analyse SQL data.

* Good understanding of IT systems and infrastructure.

Preferred

* Experience with the SharePoint 2013 Client-Side Object Model

* Experience with the SharePoint 2013 REST API

* Experience with SharePoint's application services framework including implementation, configuration, and usages of Search, Managed Metadata, and User Profile Services.

* Knowledge of PowerShell scripting.

Additional details

Occasional travel to other offices may be necessary.

It is essential that the post holder can work flexible or extended hours to complete some tasks outside of core business hours of 08:00 to 18:00.
