ABOUT THE ROLE

We need a highly collaborative project manager with experience of card payment systems to join us in this accountable role. You’ll be working at the heart of some innovative global retail projects spanning an engaging range of new technologies.

What’s the role?

Here at Shell, we trust our Project Managers to take care of projects from start to finish: from planning and executing through to monitoring, controlling and closing.

This is a chance to join a well-respected team, working on Retail IT projects: strategic initiatives that span an eye-opening range of many technologies including mobile applications, electronic payment, analytics and Customer Relationship Management.

Your remit includes:

Rigorously managing scope to ensure we deliver business benefits to agreed time, cost and quality parameters

Identifying required risk and control frameworks

Validating financial forecasts; reconciling resources

Defining and tracking project milestones; reporting on overall deliveryAccountabilities

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

We’re keen to hear from men and women whose CVs include the following:

A degree in IT - or a similar subject.

Experience in managing Agile projects

Experience of managing complex projects with large budgets and large team (5-25).

Solid knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.

Knowledge/experience of card payment systems.

Pragmatic mindset; able to take fast decisions and eliminate waste.

The following would all be ideal:

Digitalization experience including dealing with mobile applications.

Retail or loyalty systems experience.

PMP (PMI) certification.

Beyond that, it’s your personal skills that will see you succeed at Shell. You’re someone who’s at their best cultivating relationships at pace and influencing others, without needing formal authority. Collaborative and comfortable under pressure, you’ve shown you can win the trust of sponsors and stakeholders, deliver tough messages with grace, and show leadership - even when information is limited or ambiguous.
