This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity, and one that goes far beyond technology. It is a digital journey with significant implications for the future of the UK and the 65 million people living here. Join Defra as one of our Digital Programme Leads and you will help transform vital digital programmes as part of EU Exit.

At the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) our responsibilities are large and wide-ranging. Our work is aimed at creating a cleaner, healthier environment, developing a worldleading food and farming industry, expanding a thriving rural economy and securing robust defences against natural threats and hazards across the UK. This exciting work will only increase in complexity as the nation moves closer to leaving the EU.

Join the Digital Data and Technology Services team (DDTS) and you will take the lead in one of five core work streams: International Trade, Essential Biosecurity, Future Farming Support, Chemicals and Pesticides or Specialist Applications.

You will be responsible for digital service delivery that will modernise Defra Group services. You will use your experience of programme or project management, your track record of running mixed teams of suppliers and your interpersonal skills, creativity and calmness under pressure to help take the department in a fresh, new direction.

We aim to support the professional and personal wellbeing of everyone in Defra. Our benefits include generous annual leave, a contributory pension, staff bonuses and recognition, salary sacrifice benefit options, and an employee discount scheme. We also offer flexible working and a variety of learning and development opportunities.
