Start Date: ASAP
Location: Telford with flexibility to travel within the UK
Duration: 3-6 months
Case Management Delivery Group is establishing 3 Platform Delivery teams who will undertake the end to end lifecycle delivery for solutions to the client. Within the Platform Delivery Team the Dev/Test Lead will report to the Platform Delivery Manager and be a member of their Leadership Team. They will be responsible leading a team of Developers and Testers who will operate using Agile principles and practices.
Responsibilities:
* You will ensure the team adopts a consistent approach to the Development and Testing activities embracing up-to-date practices based on optimising the use of automation throughout project delivery and service operations.
* You will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Development, Assurance and Testing activities through continuous process improvement
* You will undertake the Line Management of a mixed team of junior to more experienced personnel, providing support for them to grow their capabilities and acting as a mentor/coach where applicable.
* You will encourage the principle of self-organising teams within an effective governance framework with a risk based approach to provide high quality software in a cost effective and timely manner
* You will have accountability for the adherence of quality assurance, Dev and Test Processes standards across the Development/Testing team and act as the escalation point within the team
* You will ensure Release or Service Development and Test Approaches are produced, maintained, conform to Delivery Group standards and are followed by the team
* You will support the front-end process; including validation of the delivery approach and estimation
* You will work closely with the Delivery Architecture team to ensure compliance to the various architectural definitions and strategies
* You will encourage the development and sharing of good practice and promote on-going continuous process improvement
Essential Knowledge, Criteria and Skills
* Extensive experience in developing and leading IT delivery staff in a large, complex IT environment.
* Demonstrable experience in leading multiple teams across multiple locations.
* Experience managing usage of Development and/or Test Automation tooling and processes - such as Sonarcube, Selenium Web-driver, SoapUI, Cucumber etc.
* In-depth experience of TDD and BDD.
* Experience of developing and testing solutions in Cloud environments.
* Experience of introducing Test Automation - including in a 'legacy' IT context.
* Has a deep understanding of how business processes are integrated with IT services and the challenges involved in doing so.
* Experience with DevOps and Agile Delivery Frameworks.
* Proactive, strong leader who has a proven ability to collaborate with staff at all levels.
* Good communicator with strong presentation skills.
* Mentoring and Coaching of less-experienced staff to pass on knowledge.
Desirable Knowledge, Criteria and Skills
* Experience of working with Pega and/or Documentum in an agile environment.
* Has an understanding and knowledge of how IT architecture impacts delivery processes and quality.
* ECM Practitioner certification
* Has a working knowledge of agile and Lean concepts as applied at scale;
* Holds the values of the Agile Manifesto and applies the principles behind the Agile Manifesto.
* ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certification or equivalent (or if applying internally be prepared to achieve this within 6 months of taking up duty).
