Job description:

My client is about to open a new Scottish office in central Edinburgh and needs an experienced EUC/field deployment Lead able to work remotely and self-manage who will be able to:

* First spend two to three weeks in London getting up to speed with client IT systems and processes and the standard laptop build

* Plan and implement the transfer and installation of the already procured equipment in to the managed office

* Plan and implement the necessary network installation working with local suppliers

* Plan and implement the decommission of current Scotland arrangements

* Provide hands on first and second line support to transferring and new client employees as related to their desktop and remote working setups, trouble shooting as necessary and implementing any location specific fixes

The phasing of the take-up of the Scottish office is such that a three month extension is likely to be required to provide further support to new staff. However as this will not be a full-time requirement to also provide additional first and second line support remotely to users elsewhere.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work with Scottish Office SRO, estates lead and IT Solutions Manager to successfully plan and implement the installation of necessary hardware (already procured)

* Manage network provider (virgin) and the managed office's suppliers as well as liaising with other party providers

* Manage local problem resolution and provide hands on first and second line support

* Manage risks and dependencies

* provide regular updates and reporting in accordance with PMO standards

* Manage any necessary testing

* Act as IT representative on relevant governance boards and provide the project interface

It is essential that you can provide evidence and examples for each of the following selection criteria in your application

* EUC projects and/or field deployment of end devices

* Good understanding of and exposure to Office 365, Microsoft Hubs and Windows 10 and associated build processes

* Knowledge of networking

* Supplier management experience

* ITIL-based service management as relates to incident management

* Customer service and End user support skills

* Experienced in project planning and progress reporting using a range of tools

* Experienced in supplier management including commercial and procurement aspects such as use of CCS frameworks

* Experienced in PMO good practice and its implementation

* Essential

* PRINCE2, APM or other recognised project management qualifications

Desirable:

ITIL qualification
