Mobile Application Developer

My client a leading Medical Software Provider is looking for a Mobile Applications Developer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Role

The Mobile Application Developer will design, develop, implement cross-platform mobile healthcare applications

The candidate will have experience developing commercial mobile applications, with a strong command of HTML5, angularJs, phonegap and ionic. Experience in other JavaScript frameworks e.g. reactJs would be advantageous.

Primary Responsibilities

* Define, develop, verify and maintain mobile solutions for consumer and medical mobile applications using hybrid web technologies (e.g. angularJs)

* Translate business requirements, user needs, and technical capabilities into designs that are visually exciting, easy to use, and engaging

* Assist in the submission of proposals on the long-term technical and architectural direction of all mobile applications products

* Ensure sound engineering design, process and quality practices including unit testing are followed

* Define and develop unit testing based on frameworks e.g. Karma, Jasmine

* Provide feedback to analysis/training staff about performance considerations / usability issues concerning software specifications and implementation

* Identify and communicate proactively technical problems and opportunities to the team and the stakeholders

Secondary Responsibilities

* Assist technical architect in development of product requirements and prioritisation of technical requirements,

* Ensure all quality and people processes are adhered to

* Develop product development processes

* Develop and maintain internal cross-team communication channels to ensure "joined up" services internally

* Contribute to the selection and analysis of platforms for mobile application development

* Contribute to the selection and analysis of software products and components for use in mobile application development and components for the overall solutions

* 2+ years of mobile application development using hybrid web technologies for Enterprise software products

* Experience of mobile and tablet technologies such as Cordova, PhoneGap or Titanium

* Experience with client-side MVC frameworks like Angular, Backbone, Typescript/ES6, Bootstrap, React

* Proven background in object-oriented JavaScript, test-driven development, and the practical use of design patterns.

* Extensive background with HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript

* Strong knowledge of JSON / AJAX / REST / RESTful

* Experience within an Agile environment

* Strong awareness of industry trends

* Excellent communication skills

* Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills

* Knowledge and Experience with Git, Jenkins, JIRA

Education and Experience

* Educated to degree level

* Minimum of 2 years of web application development

* Experience developing for Android and iOS mobile device platforms
