C# WPF, Medical Devices, Hardware Interfacing, 3 months, Warwickshire, £45/£50 per hour

Based in the East Midlands an exciting medical device company is looking to bring on an experienced C# WPF Software Engineer on a contract basis to work on developing software for their flagship product. This will involve adhering to the applicable medical regulatory and quality standards.

Your active duties will be to develop software in a safety critical design approach, whilst creating modular testable code in accordance to industry standards (IEC 62304). This role will be working on some of the GUI aspects of WPF but will involve working closely with the Embedded Software and Electronics Engineering teams. You shall also be in charge of developing new project documentation.

The role would be well suited to somebody with software engineering experience not only with WPF but also with protocols such as TCP/IP, RS232, UDP, USB etc.

Technology Stack:

Essential:

* Developing multithreaded desktop applications in C#

* Highly experienced in WPF development in a similar environment- Medical/Engineering/Defence/Automotive etc

* Hardware Interfacing: TCP/IP, RS232, USB,UDP

* Able to programme defence code and read code developed by others, including 3rd parties and be comfortable working in a small team which includes a diverse environment.

* Experience developing code to an industry standard such as IEC 62304/ ISO26262 or DO-178C The client are looking at paying between £45/£50 per hour (40 hour week) for somebody with the relevant experience for an initial 3 months but likely to go on for an additional 3 months after that. All the work will be based on site, however they are prepared to facilitate flexible hours to accommodate travel etc. This can include working your hours in a 4 day period.
