Job description

A technical Business Intelligence specialist who underpins support and development activities for the team within the UK. To understand technical support and development activities for BI Applications including Oracle Business Intelligence, Essbase, Hyperion, and Qlikview/ Qlik Sense.

Work as part of a technical team to lead in the specialist area of BI application tools, consulting and driving the business Intelligence tools used within the business.

Main Responsibilities

* Make changes (Support or Development) to OBI models based on business requirements

* Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, software and reports; performance-tune as necessary

* Identify and implement improvements to the current BI Systems

* Provide Support for BI Administrators on complex issues/problems

* Encourage Best Practice methodologies of design and development for the BI Tools

* Mentor the BI Developers and Administrators

* Lead the OBIEE/BI Design Group in reviewing and approving Business Model Design

* Assist with requirements gathering and prototyping possible solutions

* Maintain an awareness of the BI Tools available on the market

* Strategically design and implement BI software and systems, including integration with the Data Warehouse

* Facilitate the sharing of Knowledge about the BI Tools between the BI Developers and Administrators (BIS Team) and the Dashboard Authors (MI Teams)

* Keep up to date on the Data Warehouse and identify any impacts on the BI Systems

* Assist in the design of the Data warehouse to ensure interoperability with BI solutions

* Stakeholder management of third parties to ensure E.ON gets the best out of the BI tools they have acquired and have advanced knowledge of future releases.

* Contribute to the BIS strategy, advising of tools and applications, which will benefit our business.

* Engaged on multiple change activities at any given time across the UK.

* Engage internationally with other BI professionals

* Advise the BI Management Team of developments in the BI specialism

Key Skill Requirements

The post holder will have:

* Extensive knowledge of current BI Tools.

* Specialist in OBIEE and Qlikview/Qlik Sense, support, development

* OBIEE+ Administration and development.

* Demonstrable SQL/PL SQL skills.

* Good working knowledge of SQL tools (e.g. SQL Developer, SQL*Plus, etc)

* Good Understanding of Data Warehouse Design and Principals

* Good understanding of Relational Databases

* Demonstrable UNIX and Oracle skills.

* Ability to work with Server Technologies (e.g. Windows Server 2003)

* Strong ability to analyse user requirements

* Knowledge of JavaScript, XML, CSS, HTML

* Strong Analytical and Problem Solving abilities

* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Good Presentation skills

* Ability to prioritise work according to changing Business needs

* Able to work collaboratively, as part of a wider Team, to implement Solutions

* Develops and maintains a network of contacts across multiple IT disciples and business functions that ensure effective communication and allow for influencing as well as delivering.
