Application Support Analyst / Windows / Unix / SQL / Oracle / Java / Birmingham City Centre / Permanent

Globally renowned and award winning Financial Services company based in Central Birmingham is looking for a highly experienced and passionate Application Support Specialist to join their IT team at their Midlands office.

You'll be joining the EMEA support team, which provides an end to end service for trading applications and users in EMEA. Whilst interacting and working alongside the Operations and Infrastructure teams, you'll also be involved in working with front office teams on the trading floor.

Key Responsibilities:

*Acting as gatekeeper of the production environment, providing all aspects of production support for trading applications and business users. This includes Incident, Problem and Change management, Release and Capacity Management and Monitoring.

*Acting as the first point of contact for the business users and operations teams, mainly working with business and technical queries, compliance/audit reporting, retrieving and compilation of trade data.

*Being involved in various stability initiatives and operational excellence within the environment.

*Focusing on project work across the wider global corporate banking and securities organisation.

Skills & Qualifications:

*Good prioritisation skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

*Strong technical skills to interpret information from the trading system.

*Excellent communication skills at all levels across the organisation.

*Operating systems experience with Windows, UNIX, infrastructure and networks.

*Databases experience and understanding concepts of SQL, Oracle, SyBase, (warehousing experience beneficial).

*Any knowledge of Java is advantageous but not essential.
